Cooling tower cells come with air inlets that can optionally be fitted with honeycomb packs. These packs deflect air and light, reducing light incidence and minimizing biological growth. The Cooling Tower Air inlet louvers with Frames are primarily used in counterflow and crossflow applications and are constructed from preformed PVC sheets.
By preventing sunlight from entering the cooling tower basin, Air Inlet Louvers help control algae growth, leading to reduced chemical costs. Additionally, these louvers minimize water splash-out from the cooling tower, reducing the amount of water and chemicals needed for efficient operation. They also provide easier access to the basin and facilitate maintenance and removal.
However, without proper care and maintenance, air inlet louvers in counterflow cooling towers can become scaled, which reduces the efficiency of the cooling tower by decreasing airflow to the unit.
Inlet louver Features
Durable Construction: Made entirely of CTI Standard 136 PVC for durability, weather resistance, and self-extinguishing fire characteristics.
Light Reduction: The cellular "baffle" design and black color of the modules block sunlight (70:1 light reduction), reducing algae growth on the interior surfaces of the cooling tower system. This lowers the cost of algae-removal chemicals and labor and improves operational efficiency.
Noise Reduction: The baffle design reduces noise leaving the tower through the louver modules by approximately 3 decibels.
Proprietary Baffling: Engineered cellular baffling restricts splash-out, light, weather, and noise while maintaining very low pressure drop results.
Convenient Size: Pre-assembled modules are 1 ft (305 mm) wide, 2.5 inches (63.5 mm) deep, and available in lengths from 1 ft (305 mm) to 10 ft (3050 mm).
